Your First Visit
Your first visit to Dr Steinborn will allow us to get acquainted and establish the foundation needed to best meet your dental health needs. You are unique and have your own priorities for esthetics, function and longevity. Family and personal dental history shape your concerns for comfort and understanding. This is your opportunity to discuss your priorities and long-term goals for your dental health to help Dr. Steinborn customize your treatment plan.
We start with your general health. The health of your gums and teeth can be affected by conditions you may have, medicines or supplements you take and your diet. When you complete a thorough medical history, it helps us choose effective and safe treatments for you.
Next, we typically acquire the necessary digital radiographs needed to diagnose periodontal disease, decay or infections. We are pleased to use digital radiography and to be following the latest guidelines which balance the need to diagnose problems with concerns for lowering your exposure.
Your exam includes: evaluation of your jaw joint and muscles, oral cancer screening, periodontal health (gum and supporting bone), quality and condition of existing dental work, decay risk and bite analysis. Additional records may be acquired such as photographs and study models.
When we have the information needed for diagnosis, Dr. Steinborn will discuss with you her recommendations and treatment alternatives. We will explain the fees involved and your dental benefits for your planning purposes.
We truly look forward to meeting you!
