Faye Scheff - Dental Hygienist

I grew up in Santa Clara Valley, before it became Silicon Valley. I still remember the orchards. Hi, my name is Faye. I have been practicing dental hygiene for over 30 years now (I started when I was 10!).

I completed my dental hygiene education at Foothill College in 1978. I have been working with Dr. Steinborn since 1995. I have great admiration for her as a person, as well as a talented dentist, because she is genuinely concerned about her patients. We have a great staff looking out for the best interest of our patients. I really enjoy going to work because I like to work with people one on one. It gives me great satisfaction to know that I helped someone achieve a healthy mouth.

On my off time I like to take Pilates and Body Pump classes at the YMCA. I also enjoy hiking, gardening, and snow skiing. I have a daughter who recently graduated from college and a teenage son in high school.

Melanie Moreno - Office Manager

When I ask myself, "What do I love most about my job?" I realize that I love finding solutions to everyone's needs in the office. Hi! I'm Melanie. I have worked for Dr. Steinborn as her office manager since 1997. The most important thing that attracted me to her practice (besides the quaint front office setting) was her philosophy about dentistry: integrity, good teamwork, and most of all, excellent dentistry.

I have been a registered dental assistant since 1991. Over the years, my experience has included front office and dental assisting, which prompted me to become an office manager. Having an understanding of both the business and clinical side of dentistry helps me be more effective in assisting Dr. Steinborn, our dental team, and our patients.

Outside the office, I am involved in many different hobbies including singing and mountain biking. What I enjoy most is going on day trips with my husband and daughter.

Susan Ceballos - Dental Assistant

Hi, my name is Susan. I’m a schedule coordinator and a dental assistant. I received my dental assistant certificate in 1992 and have worked for Dr. Steinborn since 2007.

What do I like about my job? I truly enjoy meeting new people and I enjoy working in an environment where everyone is warm hearted. I also like that I’m constantly busy, whether it’s scheduling or assisting. We all get along like one big family.

I’m a native of San Jose and my favorite pastime is playing sports like football or basketball with my husband and our four kids. I am also very active in my kid’s school activities and enjoy serving as a volunteer for many different types of school functions.

Shayesta

I was born and raised in Afghanistan, moving to the Bay Area in 1989. After practicing as a Registered Dental Assistant for over 15 years, I made a significant decision to become a dental hygienist and graduated in 2007 from the Dental Hygiene Program at Western Career College in San Jose.

Having known Dr. Steinborn my entire dental career through one of her colleagues, I had great respect and admiration for her as a person and a professional. Working with her is an exceptional opportunity to be with someone that shares my own ideals and philosophy.

I love my career as a dental hygienist, and I love my patients whom I look forward to seeing everyday. On my personal time, I like to read, write and paint. I also enjoy doing outdoor activities such as gardening.
